"Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.” Psalm 106:1. Fall is such a beautiful time of year. The leaves are vibrant shades of yellow, red, and orange. The cool breeze that fall brings feels amazing. While out on a walk last week, I had to stop and soak up my surroundings. It was breathtakingly beautiful outside. It may sound silly, but I was so moved by God’s handiwork that I got choked up. “Small things” instantly came to my mind. How often do we stop and soak up God’s beautiful creation? Do we regularly notice the small ways that God is moving in our lives and working all things for our good? A car that runs, food in the fridge, a warm jacket, freedom to worship without fear…small things that we sometimes take for granted. We always notice when he does something big; something we would consider miraculous. The little things that he does for us are just as miraculous. Here lately my mind has been flooded with all the small ways that he has worked things out for my good (Romans 8:28), and the seemingly small ways that he has helped me. Oh, how he loves us! Lord, let us never take your goodness and your blessings for granted.
