Recently an interview was conducted with the pilots of Southwestern air flight 1380 from New York to Dallas. This flight was a routine flight and it was just like any other “normal” day and nothing seemed to cause an alarm. However, about 20 minutes into the flight one of the plane’s engine blew apart striking the window of the plane depressurizing the cabin and causing the plane to rapidly lose altitude. During the interview with the Captain of the aircraft, Tammie Jo Shults was asked how did she get through this emergency and ultimately safely land this wounded airplane? Her response was “I kept thinking if I have altitude and imagination I was doing ok.” As in our daily life it seems that things just hit us out of nowhere leaving us wounded and causing us to lose altitude. Sometimes life leave us trying to aimlessly navigate our way through emotional hurt, loneliness, and life, causing us to feel the need to “BRACE FOR IMPACT”. My favorite verse Jer. 29:11 “For I know the thoughts I have towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Be encouraged, as long as you’ve got “altitude and imagination”, with God’s guidance you will safely land.
