Failure-To-Thrive

I have learned that bonding with an infant/child is just as important, or even more important than getting

adequate nutrition alone. If you provide adequate

nutrition to a child, but do not take the time to form a special bond with him/her, the child will develop failure-to-thrive. This causes stunted growth, among other issues. If not corrected, it could be fatal.

I believe we can develop spiritual failure-to-thrive if we are not spending quality time with God. We sometimes make it a habit of going to church every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. We hear the word of God by the best preachers, which is the food for our soul. But if we don’t have a personal relationship with God, we too can stop growing. Even if we are getting all the nutrients we need. We cannot grow without a personal relationship with God. I encourage us to seek Him daily and to have a personal relationship with Him. Our greatest

commandment is found on Matthew 22:37 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” When we love someone, that person is constantly in our minds, we want to talk with that person daily. It is the same with Jesus, He longs to hear from us every day, and He wants to have a special bond with us.
