As you probably already know, we humans are notorious for making mistakes. Whether it's locking our keys in our car (while it's running, of course), forgetting an important date or oversleeping and being late to work, we've done it. And not only have we done it, but we've done it more than once. One of the greatest attributes of God is His faithfulness to us, regardless of our faithfulness to Him. 2 Timothy 2:13 in the NLT says, “If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.” In other words, no matter how many times we make mistakes or do things to hinder our relationship with Christ, He is still faithful to us. While mistakes like locking your keys in the car aren't sins, things like lying, jealousy, not loving your neighbor, and not putting God first are sins. The bad news is that just like we are notorious for making innocent mistakes, we are also known for sinning as well. However, the good news is that when we repent of our sins, He is faithful to forgive us no matter how bad we think we've messed up. Today, I encourage you to take heart because of the hope Christ has given us through His wonderful faithfulness!
