In my 20s, after I completed my studies at UT Tyler, I returned to my hometown of Houston to try and find my place in life. During that time, my family invited me to church and I received the precious, life-changing gift of the Holy Ghost. Soon thereafter, my attention was drawn to Psalm 32:8 — “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shat go: I will guide thee with mine eye.’’ I knew then that I would not have to navigate life on my own. My Heavenly Father would watch over me and direct my path. It is still my favorite scripture and, looking back over the years, I can see how the Lord has kept that promise to me. Through all life’s peaks and valleys, from high points to struggles to turbulent transitions, God has instructed and guided me. A friend recently shared with me a quote that simply states: “Those who leave everything in God’s hands will eventually see God’s hands in
everything.’’ Because we belong to Him, God will faithfully guide our future. We can rest on his promises.
