Purpose in Adversity

How many times do we tend to trip on our own prideful ways? The story of Joseph sheds some light on the attribute many of us lack: humility. He was favored among his family, his father even gave him a coat of many colors. His brothers quickly became envious of him. They eventually sold him into slavery to a traveling caravan and he was thrown into prison. There he found his purpose by interpreting dreams of the king in the prison. Its not about the location, but why God called you. “And Pharaoh said unto his servants, ‘Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?’ And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, ‘Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.” Genesis‬ ‭41:38-40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Joseph had to humble himself before the Lord, long before the victory. He found his purpose in the midst of adversity and found greater treasure than he could have ever hoped or dreamed.
