Why does life take us on a journey where hopes and disappointments overlap? Let us go back to the story of The Road to Emmaus in Luke 24:13-26 In these verses of scripture these men were walking on the Road to Emmaus and were disappointed that Jesus did not redeem Israel. They had heard all the marvelous works of Jesus but could not believe because they could not physically see it. So many times we ask God why he takes us through valleys, when instead we should be praising him because we are on our way to the mountain. You can’t see God working behind the scenes of your life, you can’t see the day and nights he spent planning your life.
Luke 24:27-35 They didn’t realize Jesus was with them the whole time. These scriptures alone are proof enough that even when God is silent, he is still there. Listening. He is listening for a heartbeat that is full of love and joy. He is listening for someone to make up in their mind life is worth living. He is the author and the finisher. He is the alpha and the omega. He will provide anything and everything if you will just believe in him.
