Nehemiah 2:8 (NLT) ““And please give me a letter addressed to Asaph, the manager of the king’s forest, instructing him to give me timber. I will need it to make beams for the gates of the Temple fortress, for the city walls, and for a house for myself.” And the king granted these requests, because the gracious hand of God was on me.” Nehemiah’s dream is very ambitious. He has worked out what he will need. But in expressing his needs his priorities are in alignment with God’s will. Nehemiah knows, what good is my house, if the Temple and the walls are in disrepair. So in putting the kingdom first, he knows his house will be okay. Examine yourself today by looking at your priorities (schedule, budget, etc.). Is your kingdom coming before the kingdom of God?
