52 Days. Day 26 (Half-way Point), Facing Ridicule.

Nehemiah 4:1 (RSV) “Now when Sanbal'lat heard that we were building the wall, he was angry and greatly enraged, and he ridiculed the Jews.”  The trouble with ridicule is that there is usually a grain of truth in it.  What Nehemiah is trying to do does look ridiculous.  And they are not in a powerful military position to make any sort of demands or decrees as they once were during the Kingdom of David.  Yet, Nehemiah continues to have doubtless faith in the One Who has called him to do this work.  Part of our enemies attack has always been ridicule.  To make fun of; to deride; to speak down to the people and the plan of God.  Look how they treated the Apostles, calling them ignorant and unlearned.  Yet, they turned their world upside down.  Have voices of ridicule been whispering in your ear?  Are you trusting God for something so ridiculously impossible, something so immense that only the all-sufficient power of God could make it happen; at this very moment? I know we are!!!  Ask God to help you tune out the ridicule and tune into the voices of fresh faith for the fight to see total victory come!  This is where using your voice in prayer and praise is so effective.  Fill your ears with words of confident faith - regardless of the voices of ridicule.
