52 Days. Day 29, Facing Opposition with Intercession.

Nehemiah 4:4 (NLT) “Then I prayed, “Hear us, our God,…” Nehemiah 4:6 (NLT) “At last the wall was completed to half its height around the entire city, for the people had worked with enthusiasm.” Nehemiah 4:7-9 (NLT) 7 “But when Sanballat and Tobiah and the Arabs, Ammonites, and Ashdodites heard that the work was going ahead and that the gaps in the wall of Jerusalem were being repaired, they were furious. 8 They all made plans to come and fight against Jerusalem and throw us into confusion. 9 But we prayed to our God and guarded the city day and night to protect ourselves.”  They’re half-way there. The enemy is now fully conspiring together to stop them;  they are furious because the “gaps” are repaired. In Ezekiel [22:30] The LORD looks for someone to stand in the gap [the breach in the wall where the enemy can enter]; this is a call to intercessory prayer. Intercession is prayer on behalf of others because there’s a place of weakness in them that they cannot fill or fix at this time - but you can step into that place in prayer for them. We must pray because the enemy is attacking to bring confusion.  Nehemiah’s response should be our response. They went to prayer and they were on their guard.  As you have pushed yourself to the point of actually seeing things start to happen, realize the enemy is in full blown attack mode to stop you. Don’t back off your consecrations. Get in the gap in prayer and be the intercessor that prays the prayer of faith for others; knowing that you’re making an eternal difference.
