Nehemiah 4:16-17 (NKJV) 16 “So it was, from that time on, [that] half of my servants worked at construction, while the other half held the spears, the shields, the bows, and [wore] armor; and the leaders [were] behind all the house of Judah. 17 Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon.” When it comes to warfare, the battle is less visible for us than it was for them. But it is just as real! We may forget that at times. Paul told us this very thing in Ephesians 6:10-13 (NKJV) 10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles (devious or cunning stratagems employed to manipulate or persuade someone to do what one wants) of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places.] 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Make sure you’re prepared to fight the right fight today (not flesh and blood - your family, friends, neighbors, etc.) and at the same time keep your hands busy building the wall.
