52 Days. Day 33, Overcoming Low Morale.

Nehemiah 4:4 (CSB) “Listen, our God, for we are despised. Make their insults return on their own heads and let them be taken as plunder to a land of captivity.” Low morale refers to a feeling of low enthusiasm, a lack of confidence. Low morale signifies a decline in the positive attitude and motivation of individuals towards their work or shared goals.  Low morale often exhibits itself with a negative attitude. Low morale causes a lack of engagement and enthusiasm. The enemy is trying to get in their head. They have been highly motivated and on target to see the wall built. But now they’ve hit rock bottom. The incredibly hard work, the insults, the constant threat of attack, the sacrifice of time; it’s causing them to wear thin in hope. But that doesn’t stop God from working through them. One of the great preachers of the past, Allen Oggs, was stricken with cerebral palsy since his birth. His life was one of ongoing struggle, both with the physical limitations of his body and the low expectations of others who believed that he was not capable of being a preacher. With steadfast determination, he defied all those expectations, becoming a highly successful minister and author. His number one message and book, being called, “You Gotta Have the Want To.”  Get up today and dust off your knees of discouragement and stand up with fresh faith and determination and remind yourself of the promises God has made you, your family, and your church!
