Nehemiah 4:12 (NLT) “The Jews who lived near the enemy came and told us again and again, “They will come from all directions and attack us!” Dangerous as Nehemiah’s enemies are, they are nowhere near as dangerous as despair among the people working on the wall. Despair is the total absence of hope, and it can strangle God’s Church from moving forward in faith. Psalms 34:17-18 (NLT) 17 “The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. 18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” If you are feeling despair, realign yourself with God’s Word by first of all praying for His kingdom to come, then interceding for others who are going through difficult times. Finally, text or call someone today with a word of encouragement. Tell someone, “I prayed for you today.” Lift yourself and others up from despair by remembering, He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
