52 Days. Day 42, Have Love For One Another.

Nehemiah 5:9 (NKJV) “Then I said, “What you are doing [is] not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?” As the building of the wall nears completion it becomes very clear to Nehemiah that there are some major issues to deal with within the family of Israel. Nehemiah will have to intervene and to call those out who have used their advantage to exploit their brothers and sisters. There is a reason that our Lord put such a huge emphasis on loving one another. The natural tendency of people is to look out for number one; me, myself, and I. Sin causes selfishness. But over and over our Lord emphasized and illustrated with His life and death what it means to sacrifice for one another. Love, Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13:7 (NKJV) “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” Love never fails. Nehemiah was dealing with a people who had stopped loving one another and started only living for themselves. We too now face a world like this. The love of many has grown cold. This is what must set ‘The People of The Name’ a part from the people of the world. True Christianity is shown in our love for one another. The high calling of God is for us to to serve one another, forgive one another, have long suffering with one another, care for one another, be patient with one another, don’t be rude to one another, pray for one another, don’t provoke one another, don’t take advantage of one another, and prefer one another. John 13:35 (NKJV) “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
